The Pursuit Institute’s Mobile Career Trailer Brings Hands-On Exploration to Students

The Pursuit Institute’s Mobile Career Trailer offers five immersive career experiences designed to spark student interest in high-demand fields. Inside, students can:

  • Explore Cybersecurity by learning how professionals identify and respond to cyber threats.
  • Dive into Health Sciences through interactive diagnostic tools that help pinpoint patient injuries.
  • Take Flight with a simulator that gives students a virtual experience of piloting an aircraft.
  • Try Virtual Welding, gaining insight into the precision and skills required in the trade.
  • Understand Electrical Usage by comparing the energy consumption of everyday household items—an experience that leads into a broader discussion about the trailer’s own energy system.

What makes this trailer especially unique is its off-grid capability. Powered by rooftop solar panels and front-mounted batteries (visible to students), the trailer can run all equipment—including lighting, heating, and cooling—for an entire day using stored solar energy.

Built by Intelligent Systems, with simulation software donated by Alleo (both based in Carmel), the trailer has already been previewed by administrators across Hamilton County and will begin student visits this semester.

In addition, four flight simulators, also built by Intelligent Systems, were delivered in August to support the Aviation Management class, giving students hands-on experience with takeoff, flight instruments, and landing procedures.
