Hamilton County residents stand out in leading Central Indiana and the entire United States when it comes to high school and college graduation rates. An impressive 95% or more of Hamilton County’s population has attained a high school diploma or its equivalent, with over 55% holding at least a bachelor’s degree.

In contrast, the rest of Central Indiana more closely mirrors the national population but falls nearly 20% behind in terms of college graduates. Central Indiana consistently surpasses the national average in high school graduation rates, but it trails Hamilton County’s performance by 2-3 percentage points.
