State of the Workforce Recap

On March 24, Invest Hamilton County hosted Mindi Woodson, senior vice president, Lightcast to talk about demographic and workforce trends. She had great information to share, including some startling statistics.

Some of her startling statistics included –

  • The United States could be facing a deficit of more than 6 million workers by 2030 (Korn Ferry)
  • By 2034, adults aged 65+ will outnumber children under 18 for the first time in U.S. history.
  • The U.S. needs up to 2 million additional workers a year

Ms. Woodson’s recommendations for Hamilton County included –

Recommendation #2 – Engage young people earlier about skilled trade opportunities
