Gratitude
By Mike Thibideau, President & CEO of Invest Hamilton County

With Thanksgiving and the holidays around the corner, gratitude and giving seem appropriate themes for this month’s reflection. At Invest Hamilton County we are so blessed to have an amazing network of partners who give their time to help change lives and impact community.
So far this year we’ve facilitated nearly 700 volunteer hours dedicated to career exploration from 79 participating employers. This has empowered over 4,500 hours of career exploration and workforce development experiences for marginalized adult populations within our community. In 2025, the IHC team has also provided over $120,000 in research and planning support for local communities, businesses and nonprofits.
This coming year is going to continue to see an increase in volunteer opportunities within our adult, disability and K-12 programming. We are constantly looking for more people to help serve the expanding needs of our population and programs.
One of my favorite books is “Give and Take,” by Adam Grant. Within it he describes how a giving mindset is in the best interest of both society and the individual. To be our best selves and succeed to our utmost capacity, we need to give to others. Our society is currently experiencing a moment of change that is leaving many in our communities uncertain about their future. We are going to work hard in the coming months to highlight opportunities to engage and give back, while also building and delivering resources that empower economic vitality and resiliency. If you as a resident or an organization need help, or would like to help others, please reach out so we can connect you with the community.
