Empowering People, Building Opportunity

Empowering People, Building Opportunity

The past couple of months have been full of impact across Invest Hamilton County’s workforce and education initiatives. From classrooms to community spaces, we’re working alongside our partners to open doors and create pathways for residents and workers across the county. Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been up to:

InvestAbility

  • Hosted an Inclusive Interviewing event in collaboration with accessABILITY (pictured above) to help employers adopt inclusive hiring practices and create more welcoming interview processes.

  • Partnered with the Westfield Chamber to hold an InvestAbility Luncheon, featuring a panel of professionals and organizations involved in advancing workforce inclusion.

InvestEd

  • Partnered with Hamilton Heights High School for Senior Skills Day (pictured above), guiding students through resume tips, interview best practices, and how to manage their digital presence.

  • Collaborated with Junior Acheivement and high schools across the county on career exploration fairs.

InvestOnward

  • Partnered with Aspire Indiana Health on our 5th Hospitality Training cohort, where participants earned their AHLEI Customer Service certification.

  • Hosted the Second Chance Opportunity & Resource Fair alongside the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, connecting 28 employers and resource providers with 31 justice-involved participants seeking new opportunities.

  • Celebrated the first-ever women’s cohort in our Education Empowerment Program with Ivy Tech Hamilton County and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and completed our 5th men’s cohort (pictured above on the left). These courses included volunteer-led career exploration, resume building, and mock interviews — and the student feedback speaks for itself:

    • “The program taught me how to believe in myself.”

    • “I am worth something.”

    • “It gave me a glimpse of my potential.”

  • Completed our 2nd Building and Property Maintenance training (pictured above on the right), equipping participants with practical trade skills and clear employment pathways.

As we look ahead to 2026, Invest Hamilton County remains focused on creating pathways to opportunity—helping residents and workers grow, employers thrive, and our communities prosper.
