What attracted you to living/working in Hamilton County?

I relocated to Hamilton County from Kentucky in 2006. There are so many reasons I moved to Hamilton County and why I still live in Fishers. Hamilton County has a family-friendly atmosphere and a small town feel with all the big city amenities. The overall safety of Hamilton County allows the residents to take advantage of all the parks, walking trails and outside areas. There are also a variety of concerts, events and activities to meet the needs of all Hamilton County residents regardless of the stage of life you are in. Hamilton County has grown tremendously over the past 16 years I’ve lived here, and in that time has become a more diverse and inclusive community. Hamilton County has embraced it’s history, caters to the present and is preparing for the future.

What is your favorite thing to do in Hamilton County?

One of my favorite things to do is enjoy the many outdoor spaces Hamilton County has to offer. From jogging on one of the many trails like Holland Park and Nickel Plate Trail, watching a baseball/softball game at Billericay Park, watching a high school football game and enjoying the marching band’s half-time show to enjoying Conner Prairie or Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve, visiting the Farmers Market, enjoying the Monon Waterpark, Saxony Beach or a Splash Pad…….there are plenty of outdoor activities to chose from. Just remember to take your allergy pills, use sunscreen and drink plenty of water.

What is one thing you never miss doing in Hamilton County each year?

The one thing I never miss doing in Hamilton County is visiting the Farmers Markets in Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Saxony and Westfield. I love supporting our local vendors and purchasing produce from our local farmers.

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy that you would be willing to share with prospective residents/workers?

The activities/hobbies I enjoy that I would be willing to share with prospective residents/workers are trying new restaurants (being a foodie), being physically active (gyms, fitness centers/classes, yoga studios, recreational sports) and enjoying all the amenities the county has to offer such as summer concert series, county fair, farmers market, 5K/10K/ races, parades, opportunities to give back to the community, etc. I’d share with prospective residents/workers that you will get out of the community what you put in……so step outside of your comfort zone, get involved, make friends, give back and have fun.
