Did you know that over 70,000 individuals in Hamilton County are a part of the ALICE population as of 2023?

What is ALICE?

ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. ALICE could be a friend, a relative, or even you. These are individuals and families who work hard as cashiers, child care providers, waitstaff, and other vital roles that keep our community running. Despite being employed, ALICE households earn too much to qualify for federal poverty programs yet too little to cover the basic costs of living.

ALICE households face difficult, daily decisions—choosing between paying for rent, groceries, healthcare, or other essentials. Hamilton County understands these challenges and is focused on expanding support services to help make life more manageable for everyone.

Hamilton County is here for you. Together, let’s build a stronger, more inclusive community for everyone.
