Childcare Access in Hamilton County
Only 22% of children in Hamilton County have access to high-quality care, according to Early Learning Indiana. Some areas face high costs and full capacity, while others lack quality options entirely. This childcare gap affects families, employers, and the broader community.
Invest Hamilton County, in collaboration with TPMA, has been working on a Childcare Action and Investment Plan to address this issue.
A convening was held in April 2024 to gather feedback from community stakeholders. Research, data collection and stakeholder engagement has been taking place all year. An update on the status of the plan was presented late October 2024.
