A Message from Joe Perry — Information Technology Department Chair
Ivy Tech College — Hamilton County Campus
Hello friends and community partners! I’m Joe Perry, Department Chair of the School of Information Technology at Ivy Tech Community College – Hamilton County. I’m proud to lead a program that blends academic rigor with real-world application, helping people of all ages find rewarding careers in the ever-evolving world of IT.
Why Informatics at Ivy Tech – Hamilton County?
At our campus in the heart of Hamilton County, we offer a comprehensive Associate of Science in Informatics, a 60-credit hour program designed to equip learners with in-demand skills that can lead directly to new career opportunities or serve as a foundation for continued education. With 100% online availability, this program combines technical training with general education and career preparation, making it a smart and flexible choice.
We also offer stackable credentials like the Short-Term Certificate (CT) and the Technical Certificate (TC) in Informatics, which can be completed in as little as two semesters. These credentials are aligned with industry-recognized certifications—such as CompTIA A+—and can even be covered by Indiana’s Next Level Jobs funding for eligible participants.
Dual Credit Opportunities
We’re proud to partner with local high schools to offer dual credit options for motivated students ready to get a head start on their IT education. High school students can earn college credit while still completing their diploma—saving time and money while exploring an in-demand field. It’s a powerful way to begin building your resume before graduation.
More Than a Classroom: Explore Your Future with Us
We’re more than just a degree—we’re a community. That’s why we welcome families, students, and community members to visit our campus and experience what Ivy Tech Hamilton County has to offer. Whether you’re considering enrolling or simply curious about what a future in tech might look like, come take a tour and see how we’re helping students succeed every day.
Even better—join us this fall for one of our “Crash in IT” sessions, happening in October and November. These events are designed for prospective students to assess their IT career pathway, meet our faculty, tour labs virtually, and get hands-on experience with the tools and technologies that drive the IT program. It’s a low-pressure, high-impact way to explore whether Informatics is the right fit for you.
