If Warren Buffett invested in successful cities like he does in companies he would be investing in the Hamilton County portfolio of Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville & Westfield. In 2017 the County saw an increase in announced corporate investment of $227M and jobs totaling 3,919. Both increased by 70% over the 2016 numbers.

The Hamilton County Tech/IT industry cluster led with 16 announcements, 1,492 new jobs and almost $55M of investment. When combined with business services and the finance & insurance clusters the numbers jump to 25 announcements, 2,629 new jobs and almost $171.5M of investment.

Advanced Manufacturing followed with seven announcements, 885 new jobs and almost $50M if investment. Borg Warner (Noblesville) and Toyota Advanced Logistics Solutions (Westfield) are building new facilities in Hamilton County. The Borg Warner facility is a consolidation of two technical centers.

KAR Auction Services, Inc. (Carmel) was the largest single announced investment of $80M and 400 new jobs. Knowledge Services (Fishers) and Liberty Mutual Insurance (Carmel) each announced 400 new jobs.

Of the 36 announced projects 28 are headquartered in Hamilton County. Also of note is that 28 of the 36 announced projects were expansions of existing operations.

The table shows where in Hamilton County the announced projects are located.
