A $188 million-plus road project designed to ease congestion on State Road 37 in Hamilton County could do more than get traffic flowing, according to an analysis from Boston-based Economic Development Research Group, Inc. The transportation improvements also are expected to bring “substantial economic benefits” to the region.

Fast-growing tech firm CloudOne knew it needed a “real” office when a prospective client plugged its address into a search engine and discovered its headquarters was inside an Indianapolis Mailboxes, Etc. store. Now the company occupies about 11,000 square feet of custom-designed space in the Switch development in downtown Fishers—part of an ambitious effort to build what local leaders call a smart, vibrant, entrepreneurial city. I may be a little bit biased, but I believe that Launch Fishers along with its public partner the City of Fishers has created an entrepreneurial ecosystem that minimizes the risks faced by innovation-based startups and maximizes job creation and private investment in the region.
